Simple Craft Project for Big Boy Room

April 8, 2010

Edward’s big boy room is turning into a larger undertaking than we expected.  It is hard to find time to DYI with a 3-year old under foot.  Thanks for being patient.  I promise to share updates when I have some.

Edward and I did manage to complete a simple project this weekend, so I thought I would share the results.  I want Edward to feel some ownership for his new room and I love having him craft with me, so this project was right up our alley.

We call them Puff Ball Monster Heads.

To be fair, I totally ripped the name and idea off from a fellow blogger, Philigry.  She made them for her son’s room.  I loved how easy and cheap the project was – just had to buy some tissue paper.  Edward and I completed the project in under 30 minutes following these instructions.  The only hard part was convincing him they were decorations rather than toys.

Just think when he gets older he can help even more, like mowing lawn, washing car, etc. Is that what kids are for? Cheap labor 🙂

Steven, I don’t think you or your sister labored much at home! You’re paying for it now with your own place to keep up with! Anne, cute idea…..can’t wait to see finished product.

I’m just wondering if your creative juices can be maintained for years and years. Really thoughtful ideas. I’m looking forward to your outside thoughts and your ability to pass the work details to Eric. However, he may be a willing partner.
